 Larry Baker has been Pastor of First Brethren Church since 1977. He was born in Denver, Colorado, spent 10 of his childhood years in Nappanee, Indiana which was a great place to be a kid. His family moved to the Phoenix, Arizona area while he was in 8th grade. He graduated from Scottsdale High School, Scottsdale, Arizona, and from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona (BA in Ed.) and from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio (M. Div.). He is married to Bev, has three children, six grandchildren, and two grand-dogs. He enjoys travel, swimming, reading, photography, and spending time with grandchildren. Larry has pastored congregations in Ohio and Wyoming, served at various levels of District and Denominational leadership in the Brethren Church, and community ministries.

Adam Richard began attending First Brethren Church of South Bend with his family when he was thirteen years old and became a member in the year 2000. As a member of FBC’s youth group throughout high school, he grew to love working with youth and began pursuing various leadership opportunities. Upon graduating from high school, Adam moved to Grand Rapids, MI to pursue degrees in Youth Ministry and Bible at Cornerstone University. Adam currently resides in South Bend, IN with his wife, Jess, and their cat, Meatball. His hobbies include reading, playing racquetball, and eating ice cream. Bev Baker has served as Church Secretary at First Brethren Church for over 25 years. Bev was born and raised in Goshen, Indiana. Upon graduation from Goshen High School, she attended and graduated from Ashland College, Ashland, Ohio with a BA in Elementary Education. She also has a MA in Education from Indiana University in South Bend. She taught 2nd grade for 10 years in the Goshen Community School Corporation before marrying Pastor Larry and moving to South Bend. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. She enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Bev also enjoys working with the developmentally disabled in a variety of ways through Luvability Ministries.
